Information on the Sartell - Sauk Rapids Lacrosse Association (FAQ's)

2016 Lacrosse Information Meeting  

 

1. Sartell-Sauk Rapids Lacrosse Association’s Website:  www.sartellsaukrapidslax.com

We have a new website this year, so please get familiar with the new features! 

2. The board typically meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7 pm at Caribou Coffee (Coborn’s Pinecone Road) in 

Sartell.  Everyone is welcome to attend.   

3. We are members of: 

a. MBSLA (Minnesota Boys Scholastic Lacrosse Association)  www.mbsla.org 

b. MSSLax (Minnesota Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association – 7 & 8 grade) www.msslax.com

4. Practices & Games: 

a. Boys U15, U13, U11 will practice at Oak Ridge Elementary or Pine Meadow Elementary in Sartell  

b. Boys U9 will practice at Oak Ridge Elementary or Pine Meadow Elementary in Sartell  

c. Girls 7 & 8 grade team will practice at Oak Ridge Elementary or Pine Meadow Elementary in Sartell 

i. Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday from  5:30-7pm 

ii. Practices are scheduled to begin April 4. 

iii. Games to be played on weekends – You will play 2 games in 1 day. 

iv. Monday or Tuesday or Thursday from 5:30-7pm – 2 nights per week.

v. Practices are scheduled to begin April 4. 

vi. Games to be played on weekends – You will play 2 games in 1 day. 

i. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 5:30 – 7pm 

ii. Practices are scheduled to begin April 4. 

iii. Games to be played on weekends – 4 home games / 4 away games.

iv. Open Gym – late Jan / mid Feb.  Dates & locations will be listed on the web site. 

d. If practice needs to be cancelled due to weather, website/email/text blast will be sent.   

e. Early season practices may be held at Sartell Bernick’s Arena depending on weather.  

f. ALL home games will be played at Pinecone Central Park in Sartell. 

g. Playing seasons end by Memorial Day weekend.  

5. Equipment: 

a. Boys 

i. Required:  mouth guard, white helmet, stick, shoulder pads, elbow pads & gloves.  Goalies require a 

throat protector & chest protector.  Cleats are optional.

ii. For middle school boys or boys just starting out, you can use hockey pads if you have them, but may 

not use the helmet. 

iii. Helmet rental is available to 1st year players

iv. Locally, you can find some things at Play it Again Sports, Hockey Zone, and Scheel’s.  A couple of places 

in the cities to buy equipment are Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dave’s Sports in Fridley or Maple Grove. 

b. Girls 

i. Required:  mouth guard, goggles, stick.  Cleats are optional

ii. 1st Sticks Grant – provided us with loaner goggles and sticks.

6. Registration: 

a. NEW ONLINE REGISTRATION!  

b. Early bird discount ends Feb 15. 

c. Final registration Feb 29 OR until teams fill up.  There will be a waiting list if teams are full. 

d. Registration fee is non-refundable after April 4 (first day of practice). 

e. Must have a valid US Lacrosse membership to play - $35.  This is for US lacrosse insurance.

Boy players will need to go online to sign up at www.uslacrosse.org for your membership #.

Girl players your US Lacrosse membership is included in your registration.  $10 discounted fee 

because we were awarded the First Sticks grant.  You will need to complete the US Lacrosse 

registration form on paper and mail to:  

Mary Kay Lindmeier, President. 2142 Monarch Court, Sartell, MN  56377.

f. $100 Uniform & 100 raffle ticket deposit checks will be collected by team manager prior to getting uniform. 

a. We are self-funded & the money pays for coach’s salaries, officials, equipment (uniform replacements, nets, 

field supplies), facility charges

iii. $170 Girls 7 & 8

8. Volunteer Opportunities: 

a. List of opportunities available on “Parent Info” section of the website.

b. Parents are needed to fill the volunteer positions.  

9. Mandatory Fundraiser: 

a. Each player is required to sell at least $100 in raffle tickets for our Blue Line Bash event in April/May.   

b. Fundraiser deposit check is required (will not be cashed/destroyed until all tickets have been turned in). 

10. Business Sponsorship: 

a. With a $100 minimum donation, your business or employer can be listed on our website and the back of our 

b. Contact a board member if you would like to be a sponsor.
